Art Sherwood

Founder & General Manager

Art has an extensive business education and several years of experience managing an organic farm as well as a private consulting business. He is well-versed developing business plans, setting up management systems, tracking financial data, and keeping a business running.

Art holds a PhD in Business from Indiana University and is a business professor at Indiana State University in Terre Haute. When he can find a bit of spare time, he hops on his motorcycle, plays with his shaggy dogs, or entertains his charming children Rett and Zosia.

Jeff Evard

Founder & Chief Agronomist

Jeff has over ten years of experience as an organic farmer and local food activist. He provides organic growing knowledge for all our educational materials and is tasked with coordinating seed purchases from local farms and national suppliers. Jeff also runs our retail sales division.

Jeff is a graduate of Purdue University and has run his own business for many years. We tease him because he doesn't make it off the farm very often and he tends toward a grizzly mountain man look despite the best efforts of his wife.

Maggie Sullivan

Team Coordinator

Maggie is the former director of the Local Growers’ Guild, a cooperative of farmers in southern Indiana, and holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering. She has excellent organization and communication skills which allow her to act at the information hub for the company to ensure that all teams are working effectively with each other and to ensure that no tasks are lost in the shuffle.

Maggie spends most of her days learning on the job and continuing her official role as designated worrier. When off the clock, she fills her schedule with volunteer activities - leading Girl Scout campouts, serving on the board of the Bloomington Kitchen Incubator, volunteering as an adoption counselor at the Bloomington Animal Shelter, supporting the Center for Sustainable Living, or helping out in the Mother Hubbard's Cupboard gardens.

Laura Brown-Cano

Fundraiser Coordinator

Laura is our school fundraising expert, despite being afraid of speaking to large groups of children (okay, people in general). She designs the fundraising programs including product selection, educational materials, special prizes, and delivery coordination.

Laura is also an experienced organic gardener as well as a talented crafter and artist. She specializes in fashion accessories made from reclaimed materials and can occasionally be spotted selling her wares with Gwen at the Bloomington Community Farmer's Market.

Bobbi Boos

Operations Manager

Bobbi runs the seed-packing and order fulfillment operation during the winter months. (In the summer she farms at LIFE Certified Organic Farm and runs the CSA program.) She is mastering the art of efficient seed packing and delivery while maintaining an aura of complete chaos in the office.

Bobbi is passionate about local food and has worked on a number of small sustainable farms over the years. She is currently down to one goat, four chickens, and a hive of honeybees that live in the walls of her cabin. Bobbi is a board member for the Local Growers Guild and the Bloomington Kitchen Incubator and a staunch supporter of Mother Hubbard's Cupboard. She is also an expert at knitting, dehydrating fruit, making maple syrup, and salvaging materials from anywhere.

Gwen Fluhr

Marketing Specialist

Gwen provides marketing support by supplying us with awesome photographs, beautiful drawings, and inspiring new marketing concepts. She designed many of the labels used on our seed packets and seed tins and is our official company twitterer

Her true passion is art, whether it's pottery, knitting, painting, or crafting some new and unusual combination of clay, fiber, paint, and whatever else is lying around.
